Vampire Facelift Zurich: Skin Rejuvenation with Autologous Blood
The aim of a Vampire Lift is to use only the body's own substances to stimulate the formation of collagen and elastin fibers in order to tighten and rejuvenate the complexion. To achieve this, we extract growth factors from the patient's blood and inject them into the skin.
Only a small amount of blood is needed for the treatment. To obtain the so-called platelet rich plasma, we centrifuge the blood then. Our practice in Zurich is equipped with the latest technology for this treatment. Platelet rich plasma is rich in growth factors and stimulates cell renewal and the formation of new collagen and elastin fibers after the injection.
The modern anti-aging treatment can be used in many ways to improve skin structure and tighten small wrinkles – on the face as well as on the neck and décolleté. In case of scars or stretch marks, the Vampire Facelift can also improve your skin texture.
What You Definitely Should Know
The Natural Facelift
For the Vampire Facelift, we only use your blood plasma to improve your complexion and fight wrinkles. Thanks to your body's own active ingredients, it creates a natural-looking appearance.
Short Treatment Time
The Vampire Facelift lasts at most 30 minutes from the moment we have taken your blood. Plasma gets ineffective if it is not injected back into the body within half an hour, as it cannot be preserved.
Visible Skin Tightening after Six Weeks
The Vampire Facelift ensures a significantly firmer complexion in just three sessions, which are carried out every two weeks. After six weeks, you can already see and feel the success of the treatment.
First, we welcome you for a personal consultation to our AVORYA beauty practice in Zurich. Dr. med. Bettina Kerbler discusses the treatment options with you and explains the PRP method. She outlines the processes, advantages, but also the limits of the treatment and answers your questions.
If you have decided on a natural skin tightening by using your blood, we will take some blood from your arm vein and filter out the regenerating plasma by centrifugation. Afterwards, Dr. Kerbler injects your filtered plasma with fine needles into the areas to be treated. If you want, we can apply an anesthetic cream beforehand, so you will not feel the injection.
You can then leave our practice. After the PRP Treatment, the body's own substances develop their full effect and lead to a visibly fresher complexion.
You need three treatments with an interval of two weeks to achieve the optimal result. To ensure that the success of the treatment lasts for a long time, we recommend a refreshment after four to six months.
Risks and Side Effects
Carried out professionally and competently, autologous blood therapy is a gentle, low-risk procedure. As with all injections, this method can also cause slight swelling, redness or bruises. These side effects disappear on their own and can be covered with make-up until then.
Since only the body's own substances are used, you do not have to worry about any intolerance or allergies.
Frequently Asked Questions about Vampire Facelift
What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is obtained from one's own blood. As the name suggests, it is rich in blood platelets and contains valuable growth factors that support skin regeneration. To obtain the processed blood plasma, we take some blood from the patient. Then, we centrifuge it in a special device to filter out other components of the blood, such as red blood cells, to obtain the platelet-rich plasma.
What is a PRP Vampire Facelift?
A Vampire Facelift (Vampire Facial) with platelet rich plasma is an autologous blood treatment. The body's own active ingredients are supplied to the skin, which stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin fibers. Without the use of scalpel or exogenous substances, wrinkles on the face, neck or décolleté can be smoothed and the complexion rejuvenated.
How Does a Vampire Facelift Work?
If you have decided on a Vampire Lift after a detailed consultation, we will take some blood first and then prepare it to obtain the platelet-rich plasma. Afterwards, we inject the body's own platelet rich plasma into the areas to be treated. The injected growth factors stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin fibers over the next few weeks and regenerate the skin from the inside out.
Who is a Candidate for Autologous Blood Treatment with PRP?
Basically, the PRP Treatment is for everyone who wants a visibly smoother, fresher complexion and regeneration of skin structure – regardless of age.
There are few reasons why a Vampire Lift cannot be carried out, including blood clotting disorders or certain illnesses. Thanks to our extensive range of treatments, we can, of course, advise you on alternative treatment options in these cases.
What Can an Autologous Blood Treatment be Used For?
The Vampire Facelift offers a wide range of possible applications due to the exclusive use of the body's own active ingredients. This method can be used on the face as well as on the neck or décolleté for a natural lift with PRP. In case of stretch marks and scars, e.g. acne scars, the Vampire Facelift improves skin complexion.
What are the Advantages of the Treatment with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)?
This modern method to rejuvenate skin and smooth lines
- is basically suitable for everyone
- can be implemented quickly,
- is low risk,
- based exclusively on the use of the body's own growth factors,
- can be repeated at any time and
- achieves a completely natural-looking treatment result.
This anti-aging therapy can be used both to prevent signs of aging and to alleviate them. In contrast to aesthetic surgery measures, there are no scars or long downtimes.
When are the Results of Autologous Blood Therapy Visible?
First changes can be seen after approximately seven to ten days. The injected PRP shows its full effect after about a month.
How Long Does the Result of a Vampire Lift Last?
For an optimal treatment result, we recommend three sessions with an interval of two weeks. Normally, the effect of autologous blood therapy lasts for about 12 to 18 months. To maintain the natural lifting effect with PRP, the therapy can be repeated regularly.
How Often Should the Vampire Facelift be Repeated?
For an optimal effect, we recommend undergoing the therapy with the body's own blood plasma three times at two-week intervals.
How Painful is the PRP Method?
Withdrawing blood is associated with a short prick, which you have probably already felt when your doctor took blood for a blood count. To keep the pain as low as possible during the treatment, our experienced dermatologist Dr. med. Bettina Kerbler uses thin hypodermic needles. These are barely noticeable and still achieve the desired effect. If necessary, we can also apply an anesthetic cream before we inject your body's own plasma.
When Will I be Presentable Again after a Vampire Facelift?
Usually, you can go back to your daily routine immediately after the treatment.
What are the Risks of Vampire Facelift?
Like every treatment with needles, the injection may temporarily cause slight reddening, swelling and bruises in the treated areas. Since the used ingredients are the body's own material, allergic reactions are as good as impossible. The use of fine injection needles reduces pain to a minimum during the treatment. In addition, you do not have to worry about scarring because PRP is injected into the skin with fine needles.
What Should I Consider before PRP Therapy?
PRP therapy is a procedure that requires little preparation on your part. You do not have to pay attention to anything else on the day of treatment. However, you should refrain from taking blood-thinning medication about seven days before treatment with prepared blood. During your consultation we will, of course, advise you in detail and if you have any questions, we gladly answer them.
What Should I Bear in Mind after Autologous Blood Treatment?
Since the anti-aging treatment with PRP is a very gentle and low-risk therapy, you do not need to plan time for regeneration. Normally, you can go back to your everyday life immediately after visiting us.
Avoid strenuous physical activities for the first few days after the Vampire Facelift. In addition, you should avoid facial peelings, sauna and solarium for about one to two weeks, and you should not expose your skin to direct UV radiation.
What is Better: Vampire Facelift or Filler Treatment with Hyaluronic Acid?
Although both procedures involve injecting something under the skin with fine needles, they are not in competition with one another. The type of treatment depends on the patient's individual wishes. A Vampire Facelift optimizes skin surface, it is used for injecting under-eye circles, wrinkles and for treating hair loss, as an injection into the scalp stimulates the hair growth cycle.
Hyaluronic acid is used to even out volume losses in its depth. It treats wrinkles as well as structural signs of aging and shapes the face. Even rhinoplasty is possible with this filler.
Your suitable treatment depends on the result you want. The best way to make the right decision is to seek advice from an experienced professional, such as Dr. Kerbler, who is familiar with aesthetic medicine. We welcome you in our practice and would be happy to find the right injection method for you.
Is it Possible to Combine PRP Therapy with Other Therapies?
Of course. A Vampire Lift can be combined with hyaluronic acid injections as well as with laser treatments or micro needling to achieve an optimal treatment result. It is important that we know your personal wishes and goals you would like to achieve with a treatment. Therefore, before each treatment in our practice, every patient receives a personal consultation in which we put together an individual treatment package that is tailored to your needs.
How Much Does a Vampire Facelift Cost?
The treatment costs of PRP therapy depend on how many sessions you book, whether you want to lift the eye area or the whole face with PRP, and whether you want a combination of a facelift and laser. The price for a Vampire Lift of the eye area is, for example, CHF 550 per session, for the whole face CHF 800 per session. Since we recommend three sessions for long-lasting results, we offer you discounted treatment packages in our practice in Zurich.
