Removal of noticeable Port-Wine Stains
Permanent Removal using gentle Laser Treatment.
A port-wine stain (naevus flammeus) is a skin alteration, which occurs in newly born. The creation of these noticeable stains can be traced back to a permanent expansion of shallow blood vessels. The irregularly formed dark red-violet stain is usually harmless, only in rare occasions do port-wine stains lead to illness. Port-wine stains usually occur on face, neck or sacrum. They may also occur on arms and legs.
The removal is generally not necessary, since the stains arouse no medical concerns. If the stains are large and noticeable, they can although impair a person’s appearance and become a mental burden. Commonly this can lead to the urge to remove the striking stain.
